Barpeta, April 3: Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, launched a fierce critique of the opposition parties in Assam during a rally on Friday. He accused the Congress and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) of collaborating in ways that jeopardize the cultural integrity of the state.

While endorsing AGP candidate Dipak Kumar Das, Adityanath claimed that these parties are undermining Assam's rich heritage.

He stated, “The Congress and AIUDF are conspiring to dilute the culture and heritage of Assam.”

The BJP leader further asserted that the Congress has neglected the state's interests throughout its long period in power.

“For 60 years, the Congress ruled Assam, fostering infiltration, violence, and riots, which endangered local culture and heritage,” he remarked.

Adityanath emphasized that only the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) could effectively tackle the issue of infiltration and prevent demographic shifts in the region.

“Every infiltrator will be identified and expelled. The BJP-led NDA will not permit any demographic changes or love and land jihads,” he declared.

Highlighting the NDA's governance approach, the UP Chief Minister noted that the alliance would prioritize both development and the preservation of cultural heritage.

“Assam has experienced significant transformation over the past decade, and I urge you to continue supporting the NDA in this election,” he said, referencing the theme of 'virasat-vikas' (heritage-development).

In a jab at the Congress regarding the withdrawal of its candidate's nomination in Barpeta, Adityanath remarked that the party had “abandoned the battlefield even before the election.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ramping up its campaign efforts for the forthcoming Assam Assembly elections, featuring a roster of prominent campaigners, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, alongside various senior party figures.

Their rallies and roadshows across crucial constituencies aim to solidify voter backing and reinforce the party's development narrative as the elections approach.
