Celebrating 75 Years of Rajasthan Assembly: A Milestone Event

On Wednesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated the 75th anniversary celebration of the Rajasthan Assembly in Jaipur. This event marked the beginning of a year-long celebration commemorating the democratic journey of the assembly since 1952. The festivities commenced with the 'Legislative Pride Journey' and an inaugural session held in the assembly hall, where former and current legislators gathered to honor the institution's legislative heritage.

Speaking to News Media, BJP legislator Ota Ram Devasi praised the leadership and commended the collective efforts behind organizing this event. He expressed pride in the presence of the assembly speaker, the chief minister, and other officials coming together to celebrate this significant milestone, stating, 'We wholeheartedly welcome and commend all of them.'

During the celebrations, BJP leader Rajendra Singh Rathore accused the opposition of being fearful and warned that the political party is 'shrinking.' He remarked, 'Congress leaders are constantly living in some kind of fear. Chidambaram claims that the 131st amendment is being implemented, while the Lok Sabha hasn't even started yet... Congress is shrinking, which is why they fear everything.'

Conversely, Congress leader Tikaram Julie expressed pride in this historic achievement while speaking to journalists. He stated, 'Today marks the beginning of the Amrit Mahotsav of the Rajasthan Assembly. Next year, it will complete 75 years. This event has been organized in connection with that milestone. Over the past 75 years, the Rajasthan Assembly has passed numerous laws that have transformed the state's status and direction, bringing about changes in the country as well.' Julie further emphasized that everyone has contributed to Rajasthan's development, making this a moment of pride for all.
