Fire Breaks Out in Noida During Electric Vehicle Charging

A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon in Mamura village, Noida, where a fire erupted while an electric vehicle was being charged on the ground floor of a building. The smoke from the blaze led to the unfortunate deaths of two individuals, while over 50 others were safely evacuated during the rescue operations. Authorities have arrested the building's owner and detained several other suspects for questioning.


According to Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey, the fire broke out in a house located on Street Number 2 in Mamura village, within the jurisdiction of Phase-3 police station. The fire ignited when a spark emerged while charging the electric vehicle, quickly spreading to the nearby e-vehicles and engulfing the entire building.


Upon receiving the emergency call, seven fire engines equipped with hydraulic platforms and advanced tools were dispatched to the scene. Local residents and police also joined the rescue efforts. Firefighters worked diligently to control the flames and successfully rescued more than 50 residents trapped inside the building.


Officials reported that the heavy smoke caused two individuals, a woman and a man, to lose consciousness. They were rushed to the hospital but were sadly pronounced dead by medical staff. The Phase-3 police have registered a case against the building owner and are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
